What Sausalito pools deal with
Sausalito sits just north of the Golden Gate, with hillside homes stacked above the bay. It gets some of the heaviest summer fog and wind on our routes, plus salt air off the water.
Fog and wind keep pools cool and evaporating, which makes a cover and a well-tuned heater worth having. Salt air corrodes exposed metal, so we keep an eye on heaters, lights, and fittings.
Steep lots often put the equipment pad up or down a flight of stairs from the pool. We check it every visit anyway, since that is where small problems start.
Sausalito homes get water from Marin Water, which bills on tiered rates, so refills from evaporation or leaks land in your most expensive tier.
