What San Anselmo pools deal with
San Anselmo sits in the Ross Valley, warmer than the fog belt and full of mature oaks and creek-side trees. That combination means warm water in summer and a heavy debris load in fall.
Oak leaves and catkins sink fast and stain plaster if they sit. Tannins from wet leaves pull chlorine down and can tint the water. Regular skimming, brushing, and basket cleaning keep the filter from clogging and the water from going dull.
Shade from big trees also keeps some San Anselmo pools cooler than you would expect, which slows algae but can leave a heater working harder.
San Anselmo homes get water from Marin Water, which bills on tiered rates, so refills from evaporation or leaks land in your most expensive tier.
